He was the little brother of my prayers and now You steal him away?
Dear child, you will see. You will see what I am doing.
The gifts are mine to give and to take. That is for me to say.
But Father, You said You loved me.
I believed You! I rested my life in Your love to me.
My child, what I said was true.
And you believed rightly. There's no safer place for you to be.
So Father, You call this love?
Suffering. tears. questions. an aching heart.
Oh child, why do you question?
Do you accuse as though my heart has never been torn apart?
Have you not heard of the suffering at Calvary?
Oh, my Son was familiar with suffering and tears.
Did not His questions echo into the silence too?
"Father, must it be this way? Is there any other means? Oh, please hear!"
Yes, this was pain. but in this was also love.
The pain but a temporary journey. The love a thing to remain.
And so is my plan with you.
For what seems to be your loss will actually be your gain.
Loving Father, I see now.
You give good gifts and You take. and now I want it no other way.

What a beautiful poem Lauren! Having a little brother as well that has passed away, this was really touching to me and i'm glad you shared it.
ReplyDeleteWe will both see our brothers one day, in eternity, and what a joyful day that will be!
Love you,
